Ibanez Iceman - Timeless Classic
The brainchild of Japanese guitar maker Hoshino Gakki, the Ibanez Iceman was intended from the start to be a unique Japanese design. Featuring an expanded hourglass shape, a pointed tail and a hook style cutout at the bottom, the Iceman is both beautiful and dangerous at the same time. Created in the mid 70s, the Iceman became famous when it was adopted by early glam rock pioneer Paul Stanley of KISS. The guitar has since been played by J from White Zombie, and Sharlee D'Angelo of Arch Enemy. Paul Gilbert plays a custom model with the body inverted (hook cutout on top), called the "Fireman."

Oasis of Metal in the desert of Grunge
I first fell in love with the Ibanez Iceman in the mid-90's when J from White Zombie revived the design. I was a huge White Zombie fan, and in a world of shitty grunge music, this design was an elctrifying switch from the Stratocasters and SGs that Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Nirvana were playing. J had a signature model which was green with silver stars, but I wanted the purple with the fixed bridge. Unfortunately, I was young and broke in those days, and didn't actually get my first Iceman until the mid 2000's.
